Enecsys Limited, a manufacturer of micro inverters for solar panels, has partnered with wireless sensor and control network technologies provider Ember to bring wireless Zigbee communications to roof-top solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The communications system will be designed to help monitor and optimize solar performance via Zigbee’s wireless standard.

Last year, ZigBee Alliance boasted 187 products in its repertoire. This year, that figure has increased by 80%, and now numbers 341 products, TelecomPaper reported. The WPAN service’s standards have been adopted by more than 350 manufacturers worldwide, and ZigBee’s strict, transparent to the public, and thoroughly tested standards now total 10.
